Veterinary Assistant, Apple Valley
Laura works as a Veterinary Assistant at our Apple Valley hospital. She assists wherever she is needed and her favorite parts of her job include helping all the furry patients, the teamwork among the awesome staff, and learning something new every day.
Before working at Vet Partners Apple Valley, she worked part time at the University of Minnesota Twin Cities large animal hospital while attending as an undergraduate; her work at the Leatherdale Equine Center comprised of the Piper Equine Hospital and Dudley Barn with the teaching horses for U of M veterinary students. She graduated with her BS in Animal Science with pre-veterinary medicine emphasis and with two minors: Marine Biology and Native American Studies. She is taking a gap year before pursuing graduate studies in veterinary medicine.
In her free time, she can be found hiking, and camping, fishing, traveling, binge watching Lucifer and The Witcher on Netflix, trying new restaurants, and spending time with pets, friends and family.
Little Known Talents:
– Former body builder
– Musical theatre (traveled to 3 countries in Europe in a company tour)
– 3-day eventing and dressage (horseback riding)

Food: Italian, Chinese, and mom’s homemade meals (mom is a graduate from culinary school Le Cordon Bleu in Paris, France) — especially love cheese and ice cream (Wisconsinite)
Music: Country & old time jazz
Experience: Trips to her family cabin in Door County WI and riding her horses

Pets:
Winnie — Tri-color long haired dachshund with a zest for life. She hikes, camps and travels everywhere, is spoiled with a monthly BarkBox, and can throw her ball for herself. She is the best dog ever!
Jasper — Smoke pearl Netherland dwarf bunny with blue eyes. I’ve had him since a little baby and he’s a total sweetheart. He thumps when he’s angry, is always ready for a treat, stretches out into a puddle of fluff when he’s sleepy, and is a very dapper boy.
Tribbles — Black and white guinea pig. He is Pippen’s brother and also a shy rescue. He is braver than his brother though, and likes small pets on his head, hiding in his fleece pocket, and eating tomatoes. He also sings the song of his people when he hears doors and bags.
Max — Bearded dragon. He is just the coolest, chillest dude ever. He loves finding furniture to sleep under, eating superworms, warm baths, and being everyone’s favorite!
